2012 Learning Reflection

This year I think that I did well in math because I most of the times i figured out the strategy questions.The subject that I didn't feel so confident was Reading because it was so tough to finish it and post it on my blog but sometimes managed to finish it.I think that I managed my time wisely this year because some times every week I get the cans to to go on free time.

I think I did really well because most of the times I went on free time.next year I will try to improve my reading so on day I can teach kids how to read.I give my self 9 out of ten this year.

Netbook Reflection 2012

Before I had a netbook I found learning really boring. It made me don't want go to school.The frustrating thing about not have a netbook is that your hands get tired of writing and sometimes your pencil brakes and you have to sharpen it. Sometimes I even get paper cut.   

Now that I have a netbook It makes learning really fun and it makes me want to finish my work. Another good thing about having a netbook is that you can go on learning program such as math whizz, studyladder, xtra math, and lots more.

The frustrating thing about having a netbook is when it freezes and when your internet doesn't work. I just hate it when we have to get our netbook reimaged. Sometimes some websites don't work.

But anyway it is so cool to have a netbook. Do you have a netbook?  

Disco Time

On a Thursday night the year five,six,seven,and eight were invited to a disco not a ordinary disco it was a blue light disco. If they wanted to go. The good thing about it is that it only cost five dollars to get in and to get a drink and a sausage sizzle.The disco stared at six o'clock and finishes at eight.

After school I went home to see what I'm going to war I wanted to war my skin jeans but then realized it is going to be hot at the disco so I picked out some shorts that are black and white and a green T-shirt. I put it on my bed and went in the shower I had a cold shower because it will be really hot at the disco.When I finished I looked at the clock and it was five fifty five so I quickly  got chang and got my ticket I said by to my mum and run down the road. I was nelly late.I gave the ticket to Mrs Burt than went in the hall it looked great but also dark.

I so my friends waving at me so I run to them than I hard song come on it was loud we started to dance and Miss Talea said that we are good dancers.When I was dancing a man came to me and Lizara and gave us a lolly it was so tasty.I heard another song on and It was gandom style that my favorite song it was cool dancing to that song. It was lots of excitement happening on one day. Than it was time for the cat dougie competition my friend Rebekah made it in we watched her she looked shy so we started to cher for ‘GO REBEKAH’ Dj said so loudly.The good thing about that competition was that my friend Rebekah won the comp we all were so proud.

Finally it was time for the year five and six limbo I went in the line then it was my turn I made it I was so happy. It was a long line and it was a hard choices to pick a winner so none of us won.After that we went outside to get our drink and our sausage sizzle when got one we went to set down.The song hall of fame came on so we went in a circle than me and Dj went in the middle and did the dougie.After a couple of songs it was the dancing comp the good thing about the dancing comp was that if you made it in you had to vers the adults some people made it in but I didn't.

We had one last song than it was time to go home when I went out the door it looked like morning because I have been in the dark hall for long.But anyway I liked going to the disco it was fun I can't wait till next years disco.

Ten Waka For Crhismas

This story is about two kids named Jemma and toby they tried to make paper boats. When they made their paper boat Jemma had a problem her problem was that her boat was soggy and it kept tipping over when she pasted it in the bath. Toby had an idea he thought to himself  that they could make a bout. Toby went to gorp some flacs from the basch.
Jemma and Toby started to make the waka. Instead of calling boat  they decided to call it double waka because there are to waka that are conned to gether and that is y it is called a double waka.

Toy Making

On  Tuesday the 27 of November after morning tea room fourteen kids had to make toys using, balloons, straws, bamboo sticks, paper,plastic bottles,string,sizes, cellotape, and lots of other things. We used lots of materials that some of us got from home.It was difficult to pick a toy because all of the toys looked so cool. But I picked the square paper spinner.

Then we got started I tried and tried to make the square paper spinner but it was too hard. So I decided to make another toy that is easy, I looked and looked for an easy toy. Finally I found it and the good thing about the coin centrifuge is that you only need a coin or a counter and a balloon.

I got started. I got a coin and a balloon  it was kind of hard to put the coin into the balloon so I looked for a little plastic coin. I found one in the counter jar. I put it in and it fit. I started to blow my balloon I tied the top so the air doesn’t come out, I did it really tight. Finally it was done I shaked it then I stopped and the coin inside was spinning really fast.

Overall I enjoyed making toys. Next time I will look for a easy toy to make. I will try to work faster. The bad thing about my balloon is that is popped.

How To Make A Square Paper Spinner

How to make a square paper spinner
1. Get two papers that look like squares and are cadet in half.
2. Fold both of the papers evenly so that it can look like a long rectangle .
 3. Fold the top and the bottom when you fold it it will look like a triangle.
4. Place one on top of the other so that flat sides are not contact.
 5.Tuck all triangular flaps in their respective pockets .
6. Two make it a star shape .
 7. Make a loose hole in the center and insert a needle.

 8. Blow the star and it will spin very fast.

if you want you can draw a pitcher and stick the Square Paper Spinner on it and put it out side and when it is windy it can spin around.

Retelling The impossible bridge.

The Impossible.The Impossible Bridge is about a classroom that Decided to make a scale model of their town.They made lots of bridges to make the scal mold bigger.

The problem was that when the kids made the beam bridge it was not strong enough to put the cars on top of the bridge.It bent in the middle.Matt trid two strps of carbord but stle the bridge was not strong enough.

They found out that you can make a stronger birg using ice block sticks and  salad tap.They also learn that the truss bridge is stronger that a beam bridge and a arch bridge.The learnt lots of things about bridges. The bridges took a long time to make but they still had fun.

On a cold winter day they live two girls named Katie and Lisa. Lisa and Katie were best friend. They liked to have sleepovers at each others house there were really happy when they had sleep overs.

One day Katies mum told Lisa and Katie to go down to the shop to buy some chips and a drink. As they went down the road they came to a stop they had to cross the road to get to the shops .But Katie didn't know how to cross the road she asked Lisa if she new how to cross but she didn't know. likely Lisa had a good idea she said to Katie we should use the crossing like everyone else but as they were walking they started to shake they were scared but they had to give it a go.Lisa and Katie stayed there for a long time but they had to give it a go.

Lisa told Katie look right and she will look left to see if they were any cars coming.They so 3 car a blue one a red one and a green one. than they started to walk across the zebra crossing .Finally they got a cross the road and bought some chips and a drink.and they walked home to their mum .

Likely the came home in time because Katie's mum was getting worried Lisa and katie ran back home and they the chips and the drink and had a good time and they lived happily ever after.

Once Upon a time they lived 3 little girls named Kelly, Lisa and Kaitlyn. They were sisters,Kaitlyn was eight,Lisa was ten and kelly was six there were sister and had a big house with seven bedrooms.

One day it was a hot sunny day and they asked their mum Emma if they could go down to the point England reserve for a little swim.They got changed into their togs and started walking down the road.When Kelly, Lisa and kaitlyn got there they so their friends from their school Lisa said hi liz.Lisa said to her young sister before we go for a swim we have to put on some sunblock then make a huge sand carousel.Befor it was time to go for a swim Lisa's stomach started to rumble than Kellys stomach rumble louder so did Kaitlyn it sound like her stomach was say “Give me some FOOD”.

They got scared so Lisa told Kaitlyn to go to the shop to buy fish and chips and some KfC with a drink when she came back everybody on the beach was attacked by aliens trying to take over the universe she dropped the food by accident she knew that the evil aliens were trying to take over the universe with their magical powers.This boy started to talk when everyone else was scared and quiet then one of the aliens used one of his magical powers on the boy named max he turned into dust then the wind just blow the dust away that was scary lisa said but the aliens heard her so they said “I WILL DESTROY  YOU HUMANS”.

But ratie before the aliens killed everyone on the beach a big giant came to the rexque at the reserve  just in time . Everybody started to look at the giant then the aliens said to the giant named B.J Stand back or else everyone on this beach is going to be a slave on our home planet mars oh no said k.Likely the giant had a plan B.Js plan was to stand back and then distract the aliens by making funny face to the kids they started laughing and the alyans started to say “Stop laughing and that was the giants plan he stated to do the plan then he made a move on he started to use his lasered eyes on their ship so that they could lose control of the ship no one knew that he had lasered eyes.

The aliens flied back to mars everybody was happy that the evil aliens were gone kids and adult were jumping up and down with there hands in the sky.We'll get you next time the aliens said as they were flying back to mars as well as laughing as they go.People Tried to lift the giant up but he was just too big and heavy to but everyone on the beach was happy that the giant saved them so they had a big party at the reserve  .Some people went home to bring their radios to play music.Mum went down to the beach to pick them up and everyone live happily ever after. For a while in until the aliens were back in two years!

No living animal is as big as the largest whales, some dinosaurs were as large but they died out a long time ago.

The whale is now the largest animal to live in the sea. It is not a fish because the mother gives it milk to the baby calf. Some dinosaurs were living creatures but know they died a very long time ago like 60 million years our more.

Did you know? That most whales measure about 20 meters but some have been known  to grow over 30 meters and they can weigh over 250 tonnes.The whale weight is the same size as a barge. Did you know that the blue whale is the biggest whale is the biggest in the world?

Did you Know? Tunnel beach got its name from a man named John Cargill. John Cargill bored a tunnel through a cliff to let his children get to a little beach on the other side. Inside the tunnel it is very dark and scary because they might be little bugs that can go on your shoulder.   

Room 14's maths experience

This week room 14 and I had a class experience with play dough after music and ICT. We washed our hands and then we dried it then Miss Ouano gave as some play dough.

Guess what happened this week? We had another exciting experience.Each group was given a piece of play dough then we made squares. After that me and Emmy made squares than Miss Ouano gave as some bamboo sticks.Miss Ouano told as to cut halves in 3 different ways Emmy and I cut it diagonally, and I cut it across and up.

Last week, we had another cool experience for our whole class.We had to get into groups and me and Emmy were in the same group again.The first thing that we had to do is to make five eels with play dough. Miss Ouano handed out the bamboo sticks so that we can use it to cut the play dough in equal parts.      

When Emmy and I were finished we sat up and waited for next instructions.Finally everybody was finished. After that Miss Ouano said to go on our netbooks and make a google drawing about our work we had to post on our blog.

Overall, I liked having a class experience with my group it was fun and cool because I got to learn new stuff and so did my group.I hope one day we have another cool experience.

When his grandpa said that there are going moon walking he meant that there going to the Craters of the moon.Did you know ? that  there are Craters of the moon in Taup.At the craters of the moon there is stem,hot mud pools,and plants.The craters of the moon smells like rotten egg because of the gas that comes from under the ground.

The pralympics 2012

The paralympics<3

Did you know? That there is 20 sports in the paralympics and they also have the same rule as the olympics games but they change the way the game is played .

The paralympics games will take place on august the 29 to september the 9th in 11 days.

Some people in the paralympics are blind some a deaf and some are on wheelchairs. In the paralympics there have the same sports as the olympics but the rules are changed. It is sad for the blind people because they can't see and they don't where to go thats sad.


The london paralympics starts on August the 29. there are over 4200 athletes and every athletes have to be involved in 1 of the sports. I like the paralympics and I can't wait for another four years.




    

Running Cross Country:0

On friday the seventeenth of August Point England school had  their cross country. It was cold in the morning but then it started to get hot in the afternoon. When it was lunchtime we went to line up by room 18 to get ready to go to the reserve .When we got there Mr Brut and Miss Garden walked us to the reserve.


When mr burt used the clapper and said go I rain fast and I was coming first. Then this girl went past me and then we started have a tie. It was muddy and wet and yucky the mud smelt like poo. I slipped in the muddy puddle, we did not know where to go.


I wasn’t that happy because I came second out of the nine year old girlsbut at least I wasn't the last person. Then I saw my friends at the finish line and they were tired just like me. I like cross country some times.           

Adam's Gold Medal Ceremony Becomes A Problem

When Valerie Adams  did shot put against Nadzeya. Nadzeya threw the shot put further then Valerie Adams. Valerie was not happy that she got a silver . But then when they had a drug test Nadzeya was found using steroids to win the shot put competition.

Nadzeya was found guilty but she was not telling the truth. Fans of Nadzeya still thought that she was a winner in their eyes. When they were going to give the gold medal to Valerie, the gold medal was hidden. People are saying that Nadzeya hid the gold medal.   

       

Andy Warhol

Did you know that Andy Warhol was born in 1928 and nearly died because
people tried to kill him 3 times, he was so lucky. Andy Warhol was a famous american, his art is called pop art . He was famous because the way he did his art was different to how other artist did their art.

Andy Warhol takes pictures of celebrities and screen prints their faces with opposite colours on it .He used bold lines so they can stand out and so they can look really real.

He is famous for being involved in pop art movement and he uses bright colors as well. Andy warhol love cats and he drawed one before on his art paper and he also made a movie. When he was young he loved to do lots of pretty kind of food,shouse and famous people like marilyn monroe and mohamed ali.

Andy Warhol was a good man his style of art is reversing the coulurs it so awesome.I wish I could do that it is so cool .Overall I like learning about andy Warhol.because he is a very cool artist.

Room 14 amazing trip

Guess what happened on wednesday the 13th of june? Room 14 and 17 had an awesome trip to Youthtown.The bus was very noisy because there were people singing very loud.


Before we went to the trip our class had to go to the school hall so we can get into our groups. I was in Miss Ouano’s group there were some other teams like Raves mum’s group  and Alazae’s dad and some other helpers from room 17.We had to wait for the bus to arrive, we looked at the bus coming towards us we could not wait. When the bus stop and opened I could not wait to get inside the bus. Finally we went inside the bus it was so hot that I had to take my jumper off.


Then we got there we had to go to this room to hear the instructions. Miss Garden said that room 17 were going swimming first so room 14 had to go to the clay room first .When we got in the clay room we had to site on the chair in our groups.We watched Hannah roll out the clay.The clay was soft and squishy the first thing we did is that we made a  square with carbide.

My square wasn't that cool so I had to fix it up then it got so cool and amazing that I could not believe my eye’s. We rolled out a long line and used the bamboo sticks to draw little lines on it.Than it was time to put weight clay so it can stick I made a cool design and in. The design I made a little harte it was awesome.

Finally it was time to have free time in the pool.Over all I had a very a very good time at Youth town I hope if you have a trip too.   

P.E.P.A.

Guess what happened on Wednesday? it was time to see the P.E.P.A. that stands for Point England Performing Arts.

I was so shy when it was lunch time because it was time to perform. Before we had to go on the stage we had to put makeup on and were some costumes. Some of the costumes were too big so they had to find some small ones. We had our heir in a bun. 


We were second and at performing so thats  why I was so shy. I got even shy when I got on the stage I got on the stage and started dancing it was not scary at all.

Swimming

Guess what? in the morning Miss Ouano told us that we had swimming we so happy. We had to get ready at lunchtime.We were so excited.

As soon as the lunch bell rang bell Miss Ouano told the whole class to get ready to go to the swimming pools we got changed into our swimming togs and got our school uniform on top of our togs we had to have a little snake before we go to the pools. We walked to the swimming pools we were so tired. Finally got there we took our uniform off and went for a little tense at the schwarz I whet to the cold schwarz it was so cold I was freezing cold.Group one and I had to slad in we were not allowed to jump in because mack a big splash.

Me and Rebekah were the only girls in group one. We had to kick so fast that our legs got tired and hold our breath for a long time. But then Rebekah went to group two so I was the only girl in group one.I whet to the cold schwarz it was so cold I was freezing cold.Group one and I had to slad in we were not allowed to jump in because mack a big.

I was so tied my feet started to hurt  the swimming pools we got changed into our swimming togs and pot our school uniform on top of our  we had to have a little snake before we go to the pools. Going to Camp

On Wednesday guess what? It was the year five and six camp and I was so happy that camp started . 


Guess what our group did first? We had to go to Mr Sommerville's class to get changed in our swimming togs to get to ready to go kayaking at Pt England school reserve. When we got there we had to wear a life jacket and Mr Burt told us what to do. Finally it was my turn to go in the kayak. I nearly bumped into the rock but I did not.

When the year 5 and 6 finished watching a movie, we had to go to sleep in our tent. The wind was blowing through the trees. It was a cold night, we had to get into our tents and wait for the teacher to close the zip. I heard scary noises and I also heard the strange noises. I was sleeping with two girls, Emma and Gloria but they were fast asleep .It got wet, I was afraid and shivering. Then I was bored and tired so I fell fast asleep.

Overall I really enjoyed all of the activities and the fun places we went to. Kayaking was my favourite activity. I will really miss sleeping in the tent and hearing the strange noses.

Blindfold Experience

Guess what room 14 did on Monday?After morning tea we went to the hall for a Blindfold Experience .

Before we went we had to get in two groups and Lizara was my partner. When we got there Miss Ouano told us what to do first Lizara and I had to watched the kids show us. 

Finally it was our turn Lizare tied the blindfold around me so I couldn't see, she was telling me what to do because I couldn't see. She was teling me to go and left and right and also she was telling me to jump. I was scared I was going to fall but I didn't it was scary when I was climbing up the steps. 

When I got in the middle of the stage I had to jump it was so scary when I jumped, then it was my turn to take Lizara.
